Our Team Is Proud to Contribute to Local and Global Causes
Our dentist Ayzaaz Akram is dedicated to working with Restart Refugee Support, a charity that helps refugee dentists rebuild their careers in the UK by providing support in sitting their ORE exam. This charity empowers refugees by enabling them to utilise their skills and contribute positively to their new communities. Restart Refugee Support offers vital assistance through interest-free loans, advice, and guidance, creating opportunities for refugees to restart their lives with dignity and hope.
Many refugees endure severe dental pain without access to medical or dental care. Ayzaaz Akram, alongside his wife Misha, Sammy, and our nurse Agnes, travelled to Calais in April 2019 to provide dental support to those in need at the refugee camp. Over half of the refugees we supported were experiencing dental pain, which is unthinkable when basic care is unavailable. Our team was humbled by the resilience of the refugees and plans to return in the near future to continue supporting this worthy cause.
Bridge2Aid is an organisation focused on providing emergency dental care in some of the world’s poorest communities. The charity strengthens local healthcare systems by training local healthcare workers in emergency dental treatments. Through sustainable training models, Bridge2Aid has helped to improve dental care in rural Tanzania and continues to expand its programme to other areas in need.
