Your journey at Pure Smiles begins with a detailed review of your medical and dental history so we fully understand your background and any concerns.
We then carry out a mindful, thorough examination. This includes assessing your soft tissues and screening for oral cancer, evaluating how your jaw works and how your teeth meet, and identifying signs of strain that may contribute to headaches, facial discomfort, or tooth wear.
We complete a full gum health assessment, checking for gum disease and recession, alongside a careful evaluation of your teeth and any existing restorations.
Where appropriate, we use low-dose digital X-rays, cone beam digital imaging, and advanced intra-oral scanning to support accurate diagnosis and long-term monitoring.
Our fully digital workflow allows us to gather precise information comfortably and efficiently — helping us plan your care with clarity and confidence.
Prevention is central to our philosophy. During your consultation, you’ll receive clear, personalised advice to help protect and maintain your smile for the long term.
If you wish, you’re also welcome to discuss any aesthetic goals or cosmetic treatments. Our recommendations will always align with your overall oral health, function, and long-term wellbeing.

Your new patient consultation typically lasts around 60 minutes. This gives us time to understand your medical and dental history, carry out a thorough examination, and discuss any concerns or goals you may have without feeling rushed.
Your appointment includes a detailed review of your health history, a full examination of your teeth, gums and soft tissues, oral cancer screening, bite assessment, and evaluation of any existing dental work. If needed, we may take digital X-rays or scans to gain a clearer picture of your oral health. We’ll then talk through our findings and discuss the best way forward.
The focus of your first visit is assessment and planning. If any urgent concerns are identified, we will discuss your options. In most cases, treatment is scheduled for a future appointment so we can take a thoughtful, well-planned approach.
Yes. A full gum health assessment is part of every new patient consultation. We check for signs of gum disease, recession, inflammation, and bone loss to ensure your long-term oral health is protected.
