We are so proud of Annie’s determination to overcome her dental fears

Since visiting Pure Smiles for hypnotherapy with Ayzaaz, she has made tremendous progress and feels so confident in the dental chair that she is now considering Invisalign clear braces.

Ever since she was a child, Annie has been terrified of the dentist. At 24 and in need of treatment, she decided to face her fears. An internet search found Pure Smiles and it was the fact that we have a whole section dedicated to our care of nervous patients that spurred her into phoning. That and our glowing testimonials!

“I have had a problem with going to the dentist all my life. I hadn’t had any dental issues with my teeth before, so if my teeth didn’t hurt, I didn’t book an appointment,” said Annie.

“But I knew I now needed lots of work doing. When I explained to Noieeda how nervous I am about visiting the dentist, she suggested hypnotherapy. I had a half hour session with Dr Ayzaaz where no dental treatment at all took place. He taught me how to breathe, become comfortable with the dental environment and take myself away from what was happening. He also explained how I could practice this at home.” 

Annie was totally dedicated to practicing the skills Ayzaaz had taught her and decided she had to overcome this, no excuses. She has been working from home during the pandemic, which also allowed her to book appointments at times that suited her.

“Before any dental treatment, I have 15 minutes of hypnotherapy to get myself into the right mindset. Before, I could talk to Ayzaaz about anything but my teeth but now I’m completely comfortable.

“I have had all my dental treatment carried out and my teeth are now in good health. I also had a hygiene appointment, which was a lovely experience, and a first for me. I’m even thinking about having my teeth straightened with Invisalign next.

“Everyone at Pure Smiles are fantastic and their customer service is 100%. I had a problem with being able to attend one of my appointments because we thought we had a Covid case in our family. Noieeda was brilliant and messaged me throughout to check everything was ok. They really do go above and beyond and I’m so glad I found them.”
